If he continues to pay the tax on your property for 5 years, he has a legal claim to ownership of the land if he possessed any portion of the land during that time. Make sure he isn't using your lot in any way. You owe the tax on your land. If he asks for a refund, you will owe the tax and all the interest for those years.
