No, it's not that big of a deal. It's just a simple sensor, and sometimes they go out.

it is normally changed when engine won't start or has intermittent starting issues. Not a common fault to the car or manufacturer. however crank sensors so fail or lose signalling strength due to age.vibration. unless we get starting issues after buying it.. not a worry.

Not a regular problem on that car Once replaced if it is the onlyb fault it will be as good as it can be and will be sending the correct info to the ECU so all should be well.
