Not enough info here for me to nail your problem... Are your headphones iPhone compatible...the plug isn't a standard stereo 3.5mm plug and this could cause your issues. The impedance of a headphone can cause compatibility issues (it's very rare though) might be better using a headphone amp too...(again I doubt this is going to help because I use all sorts of headphones on my Sony vaio laptops and i'm running both Windows 7 and Windows 8 machines). If your problem is constant and happens with whatever headphone/earphone that you connect, then i'd approach a repair technician and ask for some advice...I would guess straight off that your headphones are iPod/iPhone compatible and that this is your problem.
