You don't need a degree to teach music... My Godfather runs a business that teaches music and dance and all his employees are just good at what they do and they're all 1099 contractors. It doesn't matter if you're a professional musician or a 16 year old that's just great at guitar, he'll hire them if they can teach.

Do you mean to teach music at a college? As a very general rule community colleges require a masters degree and 4 year colleges require a terminal degree (PhD). On your own you can teach music (music lessons) without a degree, such as playing an instrument, to anyone.
