Those speakers need an AV receiver to power them. But if you do get an AV receiver then you'll get much better sound than if you just used PC speakers. This Denon AVR1513 is a nice product with plenty of power and good future-proof facilities should you upgrade to the next gen consoles. It's not audiophile or top-of-the-range but neither is it so cheap you're missing good features or wasting your money. It's a great and decent quality entry-level receiver without breaking the bank. Other brands are available too. Look at Yamaha, Onkyo, Sony, Pioneer and Cambridge Audio. Stay away from Pyle, Insignia and the sub $200 Sherwood products. Oh, and before you ask... Yes it's perfectly fine to mix brands between speakers and receivers. So those Yamaha speakers can be used with any of the better brand AV receivers just fine. When you do get a receiver then the best yay to connect the console is like this.... Xbox 360 - HDMI for picture, optical for sound PS3 1st gen - HDMI for picture, optical for sound PS3 2nd gen - HDMI for picture and sound PS3 3rd gen - HDMI for picture and sound These receivers can mix and match picture from one connection with sound from another. It's an option in the set-up menus.
