You may want to make a visit and talk to the DA and straighten this out early then. Or make a roadie from college. The state's case is against you, not your parent. If this is to only pay a ticket, then mail it in.

If it was a simple failing to stop on the spot ticket, no court would be necessary, so if you do have to go to court, it must be for something worse, so you need to attend in person.

You 18, your no longer a minor, your mommy cannot speak for you in court, you must appear or a bench warrant will be issues. It is YOUR job to find a way to be there or ask the court for a new date when you will be in town, Failure to appear to a court date is a crime.
