the only way to get a gaming pc for 300 pounds (~500usd) is to get an AMD A10 based PC, then get a (dedicated) graphics card later on or you can wait for the steambox like andrew said jackobroz, what do you mean by "type of gaming pc", its either laptop or desktop, and 500$ laptops can barely do 30fps in black ops 2 lowest settings

I made this for you: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/2ndXN It has enough to handle all the average games at moderate settings. I did not put any monitor or input devices but i did manage to squeeze in a dedicated graphics card. This is the best rig you can get at your price point in terms of graphic performance. I can take out the dedicated graphics card and put in a much better processor if you want, but that defeats the purpose: gaming, which needs graphical intensity over cpu power. The cpu is good enough to handle the card and you have enough ram to run windows smoothly.
