What kind of server do you have and what volume do you want to backup? It is better for us to know exact answers to help you in the right way. As for the tools, try Acronis for server backup ( http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/small-office-s erver-backup/ ). It can easily backup the files you need and where you need and store them in the cloud.

I think backup a partiiton is better. However, you can selective file restore. My tool is aomei backupper. Support windows server bu not SQL http://www.backup-utility.com/features/selective-file-re store.html
