Maybe check with what we would call in the States a "commission on public records or archives" or find the agency that has your grandfather's WWI discharge papers from service. check with library or church where grandfather(others) were baptized. Investigate and see if there was some calamity then or since then that affected the 1901/1911 census information. Any family members around to interview? Have you tried Sloan?

Hi, play with the last name some more. You know handwriting is not always readable. There are similar names like Doane. The "D" and "S" can be mis-interpreted. How about Boane or Toane? Give it a try. Good luck Carol Jean
